I Don't wanna Get Drafted
If you like early Zappa or you want to complete your collection, buy this album. There isn't a lot of Beefheart on here, but it is worth the money if you want to add to your collection.

I currently have no scans of the album. (It has almost no photos; just Cabor Csupo illustrations.) The material covers mostly the early Zappa, from the late 1960s to early 1970s. Conveniently, this is the Zappa I like.

Several of these tracks have shown up on bootlegs or other Zappa releases, and are usually hard to find. I'm looking at each from a Beefheart-centric point of view, so if you are looking for Zappa info, I'd advise for you to go to the St. Alphonzo's Pancake Homepage, an excellent Zappa resource.

The CD comes with a very nice (and large) booklet by Rip Rense, which goes into detail about each song. This Mr. Rense interviewed many people that worked with Zappa (there's a few anecdotes from Beefheart in there) and is very exacting on historical detail, though he seems to hit some hysterical pro-Zappa notes occasionally. I'll try not to spoil any surprises or copyrights by simply repeating the booklet comments, but I'll add some of what I know.
