Miscellaneous 48-core details

As Matthew Dillon works on supporting his new 48-core system, he’s written some notes on power usage and scheduling/drivers that may be worth a read.

  1. Maj says:

Where’d this 48-core system come from? Is SMP in Dragonfly up to the task yet relative to Linux, FreeBSD even for 4-core, 8-core systems?

  2. Matt bought it off of Newegg; they were running some good deal.

I don’t understand exactly what you are asking, past that. I’d be interested to see some sort of benchmark on DragonFly for before and after marking various systems MPSAFE, if that’s where you’re going.
