Google Alerts told me of two links: “Baby Steps with DragonFly BSD 1.8.1“, and “Review: DragonFly BSD 1.8.1“. Both excellent reviews, in that they describe an accurate picture of the good and bad points of the recent release.

Well, they could actually do more than whining abut the desktop capabilities.

They are pretty valid complaints - after all, we have access to just about all the same software as other systems, so we have the tools to make a decent desktop environment - it’s just nobody has, yet.

Well, one has to make a metapackage that installs X, a window manager and adds DF-specific stuff, like background etc.
